Planning a Stay Near AIIMS Rishikesh: What to Check Before Booking

SocialGully is 1.2 km from AIIMS Rishikesh, in Barrage Colony, Veerbhadra. Check apartment, guest count, parking, check-in, and enquiry — not a live calendar.

Stay near AIIMS Rishikesh at SocialGully Homestay

Most people who type “stay near AIIMS Rishikesh” already know the hospital is the reason for the search. The useful question is slightly larger: what should you actually check so the stay works for the days around those visits — not only the distance to campus?

SocialGully Homestay is in Barrage Colony, Veerbhadra, PIN 249203. AIIMS Rishikesh is 1.2 km from the homestay. Barrage Dam is a local landmark in the same neighbourhood. That AIIMS figure does not stretch, by itself, to Aastha Path, Marine Drive, Veerbhadra Mandir, or Rajaji National Park.

Proximity to AIIMS is the starting fact. The rest of the stay is how you live next to it.

The hospital, and the neighbourhood around it

Being 1.2 km from AIIMS is the practical core if appointments, attendants, or recovery days are on the itinerary. It is also why this neighbourhood shows up in the search. What keeps the stay from feeling like a waiting room is the rest of Barrage Colony: a residential street, the barrage as a local landmark, and the Ganga / Aastha Path riverfront as surrounding neighbourhood. Marine Drive is a 10-minute walk to the Ganga.

Over a few days, that wider picture matters. Someone visiting AIIMS still needs groceries, cash, a meal, and a place to sit that is not a corridor. Pharmacy, grocery, ATM, bus stop, and a restaurant sit in the published walking list for the homestay — categories and distances, not named shops.

If the hospital days are why you are here, start with SocialGully stays and pick the stay style that matches how the group will actually spend those days.

Apartment, guest count, and AC

There are two apartments in the same house. The 1BHK is listed for 2–4 guests, with one AC bedroom and one non-AC room. The 2BHK family apartment is listed for 4–7 guests, with fully air-conditioned bedrooms and living room. Four adults fit both — so guest count alone does not pick the apartment. Configuration, space, and who needs AC do.

If you are two or three people, the 1BHK sits inside its published capacity. If you are five to seven, only the 2BHK does. If you are four, compare the rooms: the 1BHK’s second room is non-AC; the 2BHK’s bedrooms and living room are AC. Do not assume the two apartments can be booked as one combined unit unless that is confirmed in an enquiry.

Compare the 1BHK apartment if two or three guests, or four who can use one non-AC room, fits the group.

Open the 2BHK option when you need more space, a cooled living room, or up to seven guests.

Parking, check-in, and dates

Free parking is available for guests. If you are arriving by car for hospital days, that is a practical check — not a scenic detail.

Check-in is 12:00 PM. Early check-in is on request if the home is free; the 2BHK page also lists check-out at 11:00 AM and late check-out upon request. House Rules describe a 12:00 PM–8:00 PM check-in window. If your arrival sits outside that window, say so in the enquiry rather than assuming the door is open at any hour.

This is an enquiry stay, not live inventory. Dates are confirmed by WhatsApp, call, or the contact form — not by a public calendar. Call or WhatsApp +91 9873000136, or use Check Availability. The homestay is women-led.

What a few days here actually feel like

If the trip revolves around AIIMS, campus days set the rhythm. Between visits, Barrage Colony is still Veerbhadra: residential, by the barrage, with the river and Aastha Path in the surrounding neighbourhood and Rajaji National Park in the wider landscape. You are not on the Tapovan or jhula streets. Those remain other parts of Rishikesh, reached when you have time and energy — not as the default outside the gate.

A stay near AIIMS can still include a river walk at Marine Drive, or it can stay almost entirely inside the colony-and-campus loop. Neither version requires you to “do Rishikesh” on the jhula side. The mistake is collapsing those choices: treating 1.2 km to the hospital as if it also described Parmarth Niketan, or treating a residential street as if it had no landscape beyond the gate.

Attendants, parents, and mixed groups run into the apartment question quickly. Who needs the AC bedroom? Who can use the non-AC room? Is four people actually looking for two cooled bedrooms? Those are planning checks, not medical advice. The published capacities exist so you do not have to guess overnight numbers.

If the stay is built around the hospital, start with Medical Stay then send guest count and dates so the apartment can be matched.

For an AIIMS-linked stay, the useful message is dates, number of guests, and whether you need the 1BHK or 2BHK. Use Check Availability or WhatsApp / call +91 9873000136.
